When I got home that day, I unzipped my dark purple backpack and took out my binder. I took out a blank piece of notebook paper. I wasn't doing my homework; I was making a list of possible people that could have written the note.
I realized while making the list that there weren't as many people as I thought that were addicted to Family Guy. At least, people that I actually knew. There was Jake, one of the guys that sat at a table with me at lunch everyday. He wasn't the only one though. There was also Eric, James, Bradley, Jonathan, Adam, and Benny. James was the only one who didn't watch Family Guy. The only girls that sat with them were me, Kate, and Charlotte. Charlotte hung out with Kate and I alot. I knew, though, that neither Kate nor Charlottle wrote the note, because the author said he was male.
So far, the list only had six people: Eric, Jake, Bradley, Jonathan, Adam, and Benny. I racked my brain for more Family Guy-loving male friends. Only three people came to mind. There was Chris, who was in my homeroom, Carlos, who was in my math class, and Damien, who occupied the locker next to mine.
Nine people on the list. 'Shouldn't be hard to find the author now.' I thought. These notes had touched me, and I really thought I was falling for the author of them, but I didn't even know who the author was! If only they would tell me, then maybe, just maybe, Kate would be right about something for once.
"Ash, time for dinner!" my mother called. I ran downstairs. My 3 siblings were already seated. My older brother, Andy, was seated beside my seat. Andy was the one person I could come to in a time of need. Despite common belief, not all older brothers are immature. I love Andy.
On my other side, there was my baby sister, Allison. She was only 7 months old. She had light blond hair just beginning to sprout up.
Inbetween Andy and Allison was the immature brother, Adrian. Hoping he wouldn't annoy me tonight, I quietly took my seat and began eating.
After dinner, I did my homework quickly, but I had my mind on the note, so half of the answers were probably incorrect.
I went to bed early that night, something I rarely did. I thought about the 9 possible authors over and over, as if replaying a movie. I slept horribly.
The next day, the sun was shining. I forgot to wear my hood for the first time that day. I was eagerly awaiting the next note. As soon as I stepped out of the car, I bolted to my locker. Kate was already waiting there.
"Adam told me you got another note." she said.
"Yea, it told me that the author likes Family Guy. I narrowed the list down some after that hint." I entered my combination, opened my locker, and this time, a blue envelope fell onto my feet. I stuck it in my pocket, got the remainder of my belongings, and ran to homeroom, Kate following.
I set the books down on my desk and grabbed the note out of my pocket. I sliced it open, and there was the next note, laying on the desk.
